This expanse, often overshadowed by the city’s more famed attractions, harbors stories of resilience amidst adversity, a testament to the human spirit. The morning was spent traversing the vibrant township of Khayelitsha, where I was introduced to a community project aimed at empowering the youth through art and education. As I walked through the township, I couldn’t help but notice the stark contrast between the lush, tourist-frequented areas of the city and the palpable sense of community in the Flats.
